The short saga is over. Willy Boly is finally heading to Wolves, according to A Bola this morning.
The newspaper claims the the deal is done and the player will be heading to the Championship side on a one-year loan deal.
Wolves will be paying for the defender’s full salary during that period, and will have an option to buy him permanently for €12m at the end of the season.
Talks have been ongoing in the past few days, but as reported by a few outlets in Portugal, it’s been hard for Wolves to convince the player to join a Championship club.
But he didn’t have much choice, because Porto aren’t counting on him for next season.
Yesterday, A Bola claimed that in case of a permanent transfer, Boly would earn much more at Wolverhampton than he does at Porto.
Apparently his salary will be the same, but who knows if some bonuses haven’t convinced him? The €12m fee does sound at least a little on the high side.
