Earlier today, we covered a pretty interesting story from Record which detailed the negotiations between Sporting and Wolverhampton for the transfer of Rui Patrício.
Their article claimed that the Portuguese side had drafted their conditions for a deal, in which the Championship winners would have to pay €18m to get the goalkeeper.
Record didn’t say much about the future of these negotiations, but newspaper A Bola has some little yet exciting information about it.
As they report Sporting’s negotiations to settle a debt with Gestifute from Adrien Silva’s transfer to Leicester City, they also claim that Wolves may make another bid for Patrício.
The goalkeeper would give up on terminating his contract with Sporting if Bruno de Carvalho steps down, and in this case, the Wolves would resume talks with the Lions.
That’s when A Bola claims that Wolves would still bid €18m for Patrício, the same amount that was demanded by Sporting.
So it really makes it sound like tied to Sporting or not, Patrício’s move to Wolves could still be on at some level.
