Even though Portuguese newspapers have been quiet about Everton’s quest for a new manager, we now get interesting updates from TVI24 show Mais Transferências.

Journalist Rui Pedro Braz claims that according to his information, the new Everton manager ‘should indeed be Nuno Espírito Santo’.

“Let’s see if it will be confirmed or not, but at this time, if I had to bet, If I was of betting, I’d bet on Nuno Espírito Santo,” he says.

Mais Transferências analyses other names who’ve been on Everton’s list, including David Moyes, Vitor Pereira and Marco Silva.

Braz says it’s ‘surprising’ that Marco Silva has been among the options. He claims to have had it confirmed that the former Watford and Everton boss has been mentioned in those meetings, backing up a report from Sky Sports.

Regarding Vitor Pereira, the journalist says his name seems to be definitely ruled out.

Pundit Bruno Andrade, who was also on the show, adds that Nuno Espírito Santo left Wolverhampton Wanderers purely because he wanted to, as he could have stayed at the Molineux for longer.
