José Mourinho has been working for European giants for so many years that the Portuguese media doesn’t even make a big coverage of each one of his steps, as they do with other of their managers.
Still, Tottenham Hotspur’s campaign in the Premier League is something highlighted by newspaper A Bola today, as journalist Fernando Urbano brings a piece saying the Special One is ‘never out of fashion’.
The story claims that the ‘Guardiolism’ has been slowly ‘losing followers’, and Mourinho is ‘recovering his aura’, at the London side, which is the ‘perfect place’ for him.
Specifically about Tottenham, A Bola claims that this squad has many similar points to the great teams that Mourinho managed in the past.
“Intense players on the field but, fundamentally, players who reject the star profile”, A Bola says.
“When we look at Lloris, Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Sissoko, Aurier, Højbjerg or Reguilón, we admit that we could find them in line at our supermarket, serving us a gallon at the pastry shop, playing with the kids in the park or simply having a run on the boardwalk.”
Their piece admits it’s unlikely that Spurs will win a title this season due to the lack of a big squad, but still, the manager ‘is back’, as he’s ‘never out of fashion’.
