Since we started covering the stories which link Manchester United to Bruno Fernandes, we’ve read many short claims from several Portuguese sources saying the Red Devils are interested in the midfielder.

Now newspaper A Bola probably brings the most complete piece of them all. Although their headline says ‘Bruno Fernandes prefers the Premier League’, the article actually talks about the Old Trafford side’s advantage in the race.

The outlet says Manchester United have already made ‘a step forward’, and showed they’re willing to pay the player’s €100m release clause. It’s claimed there are ‘informal’ talks for now, but official moves can be made soon.

A Bola says the signing of Bruno Fernandes is now a wish of Ole Gunner Solskjaer, and although the English club have enough reports from the player’s performances this season, they will continue to scout all of his games.

Regarding A Bola’s headline, what they say is that Fernandes isn’t really thinking about a move now, since he’s focused on the end of his season with Sporting. But when the time comes, he has some special feelings for the Premier League.

The newspaper writes that England ‘should’ be his destination, since he’s a man of strong opinions and will certainly have a big influence when Sporting negotiate where will he be sold to.

Speaking of competition, A Bola lists Paris Saint Germain, Arsenal, Milan and Juventus. The Rossoneri are claimed to be the only of these who are willing to battle Manchester United, but still, the report says it’s unlikely they could match the Red Devils’ offer, both in terms of transfer fee and personal terms.

So although A Bola doesn’t have a headline saying ‘Bruno Fernandes prefers Man United’, all of the article makes it clear it’s the Old Trafford side who have the lead to sign the player.
