Last summer, the Portuguese press reported that Sporting and Manchester City would make a partnership for the exchange of players between them.

The first rumours said the Premier League side could make signings and send them to the Lions on loan deals, which would have been the case for Thiago Almada.

Unfortunately, that transfer never went through, and there hasn’t been many other rumours about this partnership since then, until now.

The subject is back with stories about Pedro Porro’s future, and it appears this partnership actually exists.

Sporting’s interest in the player has first been reported by the Spanish press, and at the weekend, newspaper Record had a few more details about it.

Record claims that following Porro’s current loan spell at Real Valladolid, Pep Guardiola still doesn’t have plans for him.

That’s why Manchester City would like the player to go out on another loan, and see Sporting as a good destination.

The point made is that the partnership between the clubs would make this deal easier for the Portuguese side.

Porro joined Manchester City on a €12m deal from Girona last year, and has a contract with the club until 2024.
