One more Manchester United youngster is being sent out on loan: Joel Pereira is reportedly signing for Belenenses.
O Jogo claims that the deal is already agreed and the goalkeeper will play for the Portuguese side for one season. They say there’s not a buying option included.
Besides a Portuguese name, Pereira also has a Portuguese passport since his parents were born in the country. The keeper is originally from the Swiss town of Le Locle.
He played for the U-15, U-16 and U-17 Swiss national teams, but has decided to represent Portugal since then, where he’s currently part of the U-21 squad.
Pereira is still to debut for Manchester United’s first team. Last season, he had a short loan spell at Rochdale, where me made 8 appearances.
