Portuguese outlet RTP comes up with more information on Cristiano Ronaldo’s comeback to Manchester United.

Following the club’s announcement on the agreement to take the 36-year-old from Juventus, the story now brings a few extra details on what convinced the player to snub Manchester City and join the Red Devils once again.

RTP writes that Ronaldo was ‘very close’ to being signed by Pep Guardiola’s side, but ‘the intervention from Ferguson changed everything’.

The former Manchester United manager is said to have been ‘decisive’ in the striker’s choice to move to Manchester United.

It’s claimed by RTP that Ronaldo is set to make at United more than what he’d have received at Manchester City. Still, that’s a lot less than he used to earn in Italy.

They claim that amount hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it should be around €20m per season in a two-year deal.

Even though reports from England have been claiming the Red Devils are spending an initial amount of €15m on the transfer, RTP sticks by their previous information saying the club are paying Juventus around €30m.
