Manchester United’s new signing Cristiano Ronaldo is heading to England today, according to reports from Portugal.
RTP claims that even though the striker’s presentation at his new club was supposed to happen only after his international duties, it could now be done earlier.
Cristiano Ronaldo was booked in the last minute of Portugal’s game against Ireland last night. In RTP’s words, he ‘provoked’ the yellow card by taking his shirt off during a goal celebration.
So even though he was expected to be presented on the 8th of September, after the game against Azerbaijan, he’s now suspended from the national team’s next match and free to fly to Manchester today.
RTP’s claims Cristiano Ronaldo ‘has a strong desire‘ to start training at Manchester United as soon as possible. Even though they know he travels today, they can’t confirm when he’ll start working with the Red Devils’ squad.
Ronaldo spoke to the Brazilian media after Portugal’s match last night, and had already talked about his preparation for his new debut in the Premier League.
“It’s going to be beautiful. I want to prepare well because we know the Premier League is very difficult”, he told TNT Sports.
“This was my first game of 90 minutes. I felt a little difficulty. But little by little, things are coming out.”
