This morning, we covered a piece from Portuguese newspaper A Bola which said there’s been ‘concrete progress’ in Manchester United’s chase for Porto left-back Alex Telles.

The outlet said talks are being mediated by agent Pini Zahavi, and ‘everything really suggests’ that a deal between the clubs could be found soon.

Now we bring what newspaper Jornal de Notícias has to say, and they’re actually a little less optimistic about what’s being going on with the player.

They say even though ‘the English press, and not only’ has been reporting Manchester United’s ‘alleged interest’ in Telles, there hasn’t been any developments in recent hours.

Jornal de Notícias says the Red Devils are still to make a formal bid for the player, and Porto won’t let him go for less than €20m.

It’s claimed Porto would like to keep him in the squad, but since his contract expires in less than a year, the chances of him staying ‘lose strength’ due to the club’s financial needs.

Correio da Manhã is another one with a story on the left-back, and their article sounds a lot more sensationalist.

They have a headline saying ‘Man United accelerate Alex Telles’ business’, and claim that the weekend’s game sounded like his farewell from the club.

Despite claiming the Red Devils are proposing a deal of €20m, it’s only at the end of the story that they credit some information to the English media, claiming the Old Trafford side are willing to let Diogo Dalot move to the Dragons on a loan deal.

The Dalot idea was earlier dismissed by A Bola.
