Since The Telegraph broke the news about Mauricio Pochettino’s departure from Chelsea, we’ve already lost count of how many managers have been linked to the job.
Even though most outlets had no idea the manager would walk away from Stamford Bridge, many now claim to have some information about who can replace him there.
One of the stories comes from Mais Futebol, where it’s reported that Chelsea have two favourite names to take Pochettino’s place. Those are said to be Roberto De Zerbi and Marco Silva.
The former Brighton boss has reportedly been a strong option for the Blues ‘for months’, and was already interviewed by them. The Fulham manager, meanwhile, is described as a name who ‘also pleases’ the club’s board.
We must also recall that The Telegraph’s original report about Pochettino’s departure named candidates such as Stuttgart’s Sebastian Hoeness, Girona’s Michel, Leicester City’s Enzo Maresca and Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna.
Pochettino joined Chelsea last summer, and in his only season with the Blues, he leaves with a record of 27 wins, 10 draws and 14 assists. He got to the League Cup and the FA Cup semifinals, and finished 6th in the Premier League.
