Although Luís Castro is still to officially accept Reading’s invite to join them, it looks like his club Vitória Guimarães are already looking for a replacement for him.
Newspaper O Jogo brings a story this Monday claiming that the Portuguese side are planning to give the job to Castro’s current assist, Vítor Severino.
Interestingly, another Portuguese newspaper, Record, (via Zerozero) claims that there are two other candidates for the job. They would be Lito Vidigal and Pepa.
Although each one of the outlets brings a different version, they both agree that Vitória are already preparing themselves for Castro’s departure.
Back at O Jogo, the outlet says that Castro is expected to give Reading a response today. It’s claimed that the decision hasn’t been made yet.
On Sunday, the manager explained he would speak to his family and to Vitória before giving Reading a final response. Meanwhile, reports from Portugal have said that the Premier League side have officials in the country, ready to trigger the manager’s release clause.
