Surprising reports from Spain on Tuesday say that Bruno Fernandes could end up moving to La Liga this month, which isn’t what Manchester United fans would like to hear.

As reported by Super Deporte, Barcelona have been trying to sign Rodrigo Moreno from Valencia, and the Sporting captain could be the solution to this deal.

Barça would sign Bruno Fernandes and loan him out to the Mestalla side until the end of the season. That would make all parties happy.

This is a report which first came from Super Deporte, and then was claimed by Marca as well. And now it’s time for the Portuguese press to back it up, because Record also bring their own information.

The Portuguese outlet says they’ve managed to confirm that Sporting president Frederico Varandas has been contacted by Barcelona to speak about the deal.

It’s no surprise if Varandas has been happy to let this story continue, and even encourage it.

With Sporting working hard on getting a good agreement for Fernandes’ departure in the past few months, this is certainly a chance they wouldn’t miss. Especially with the talks with Manchester United not having decisive developments yet.

Barcelona interest, real or not, isn’t a bad marketing tool.
