Championship side Aston Villa have signed André Moreira from Atletico Madrid, according to claims on Friday.
Portuguese outlet Record claims that the goalkeeper had been in England negotiating for a few days, and has already signed a contract with the club.
Moreira is reportedly arriving to Villa on a loan deal, which will include a buying option at the end of the season.
There were other clubs in the battle for Moreira, including Portuguese giants Sporting, who are still looking for a goalkeeper to replace Rui Patrício, who left for Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
It’s stated the Lisbon club were close to signing him this week.
Moreira signed for Atletico Madrid in 2014, and has had several loan spells since then, all in Portugal. He’s played for Moreirenses, União Madeira, Belenenses, Braga and Belenenses again, where he spent the last season.
Record doesn’t say how much will Aston Villa have to pay in case they decide to use the buying option.
