Arsenal’s interest in the Sporting youngster Joelson Fernandes continues to be highlighted by the Portuguese press.
Today it’s Record who brings an update on the 17-year-old’s situation, claiming there’s a new round of negotiations for him to renew his contract with the Lisbon side.
Sporting want to raise his release clause from €45m to €100m, but his father Eusébio and his agent Kia Joorabchian have been fighting against that.
Record writes that the winger is wanted by Arsenal, who have an offer which is ‘ready to be presented’ to Sporting. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are the other clubs who want him.
We’ve covered two stories about Arsenal’s interest in Joelson so far. The first said the Gunners had been added to the list of pretenders for the winger, and the second claimed they made the first contacts for the signing. So with claims now saying there’s a bid prepared, the updates are getting stronger each time.
