We don’t cover much League One action these days, mostly because clubs from England’s third tier rarely do their shopping outside of the United Kingdom, but Portsmouth F.C. have decided to branch out a bit.
The former Premier League side are, according to various members of the Italian media, looking at a young Serie A midfielder by the name of Michel Ndary Adopo, currently contracted to Torino.
The news went under our radar over the weekend, but Gazzetta dello Sport bring it to our attention on Monday, explaining Portsmouth are after the 20-year-old.
Capped twice for France’s U18s, the midfielder has two Serie A appearances for his name for Torino, although they both came last season when he spent the majority of the campaign warming the first-team’s bench.
Gazzetta are a bit stingy with the details, but an article from a few days ago, originating from Tuttosport and relayed by Serie B News, provides a bit more.
According to them, Torino are trying to shave off some of their squad and send some of their youngsters out on loan.
Adopo is among those, and it’s believed the ‘most concrete possibility’ is Kenny Jackett’s side, who have ‘presented an urgent request’ for the player, wanting him ‘on a loan with a view to buy’.
We don’t know how much, but it shows Portsmouth thinking outside the box, as they continue their quest to return to the Championship, currently sitting fourth in the table after 22 games.
