In a poll conducted by Fotbollskanalen, fans have agreed Norrkoping defender Linus Wahlqvist could be the next Allsvenskan star to move. The 20-year-old has impressed for his club in the past 12 months, and has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Fotbollskanalen asked who will be the next player from the Swedish top flight to get a major transfer. Wahlqvist received 13% of the vote, which put the Leeds United target joint second in the poll, along with Halmstad’s Sead Hakšabanović.

Wahlqvist has been linked with a move away from Norrkoping in recent months, and it’s expected the youngster will get a transfer abroad. Ostersund’s Saman Ghoddos topped the poll with 19% of the vote.

There were reports during the last window that Leeds United are still interested in the player following Garry Monk’s effort to sign the right back last summer. Leeds United’s recent run sees them as serious promotion contenders, and as such the club is becoming more attractive to potential signings.

Norrkoping need to sell players to balance the books, which will helps Leeds United. Another boost is that the story of Valencia interest has pretty died down in the media local to the Spanish club, with other targets now the subject of speculation.
