Hamburg fans have reacted to the announcement Pierre-Michel Lasogga has been named Leeds United’s Player of the Month for September, and it general is doesn’t read well for the German club.
Lasogga is currently on a season long loan with Leeds United, and the 25 year old has impressed since his arrival in August.
Yesterday it was revealed Lasogga is Leeds United’s best player for September after the German hit the ground running with his new club.
The forward scored three goals in five games, and this has led to debate among Hamburg fans on Hamburger Morgenpost as to whether Lasogga should have left for Leeds United at all.
Some Hamburg supporters are frustrated with the way the Bundesliga side failed to get the best out of Lasogga, accusing the club of incompetence with regards to the way they handled the player.
“In the Volkspark he was left out by an incompetent coach, in England he starts.”
Others are still happy Lasogga is no longer at the club due to his salary, even though Leeds United are contributing a percentage, whilst one fan has pleaded for his to return to Germany.
“Please return,” said one concerned and seemingly very polite Hamburg fan.
Despite joining Leeds United for the season, it seems the door is still open for Lasogga at Hamburg. Yesterday we covered comments made by sporting director Jens Todt, when he suggested the former Germany U21 international could still have a future at Hamburg, if he continues to impress at Leeds United.
