Allan’s saga has finally come to an end last night, with Atlético Mineiro announcing his transfer from Liverpool on a permanent deal.
It had been an intense week for the player, since there was a big battle to get him from the Reds.
Fluminense, who had him on loan in 2019, were confident they could find a deal to keep him permanently, especially because he’d claimed he would like to stay at the Rio de Janeiro side.
So with Atlético winning the race, some Fluminense fans decided to fly into a rage against the player, and ended up sending some offensive messages to him and his wife.
On an Instagram post, Jordana Holleben revealed that some people even recalled the player’s problems with depression from a few years ago. She’s made sure to say they don’t represent all of Fluminense’s fanbase, but still wanted to show how upset they were with the messages.
“Good thing I have the full maturity to acknowledge that the FLUMINENSE fanbase isn’t based on the minority wishing for the return of depression, death threats to me and my daughter, a thousand and one offences, mean and profanity. This is not football, this is not sport, this is not Fluminense. More respect with Fluminense! Respect for people who have depression. This is a SERIOUS disease.”
Atlético paid around £3m to sign Allan from Liverpool. He’s signed a four-year contract with the Belo Horizonte side.
