Watford are about to sign Cameroonian free agent Nicolas N’Koulou, according to reports.
The Italian media seems to have the most information about it, as journalist Gianluca Di Marzio writes that the defender is signing for the Hornets today.
With no big details about the contract, it’s just claimed that the player is now ‘ready’ to join the Premier League side and join Claudio Ranieri in this ‘new adventure’ in England.
N’Koulou had been a free agent since July, when his contract with Torino expired.
Another Italian source reporting the news is CalcioMercato.it. They say that ‘except for surprises’, N’Koulou is joining Watford, as there are only ‘details’ left before his contract with the Hornets is agreed.
The outlet adds that the defender had been wanted by several clubs, as there was a particular rumour about La Spezia, but they found out there had been no contact for that move, leaving the Premier League club with a free run at the defender.
