Crystal Palace are among a few clubs keeping tabs on Aston Villa’s Morgan Sanson.
The 27-year-old’s performances for Marseille convinced the Premier League side to invest on securing his services in January 2021. He signed a contract until 2025 at Villa Park.
However, the midfielder has struggled to shine in England and has been restricted to only five league starts, out of which two came this season. Having been left out at the start of this term by Dean Smith, the Frenchman was been given a few opportunities by Steven Gerrard.
Jeunes Footeux claim Sanson is having a ‘complicated season’ at Villa and is ‘struggling to convince’ Gerrard. Therefore, it ‘would not be surprising’ for him to leave Villa Park after this season.
The player’s situation at Aston Villa has ‘alerted’ Crystal Palace. The Eagles have ‘watched’ him, but they are not alone.
It’s claimed Patrick Vieira’s side are joined by Lille and Rennes, who are ‘very attentive’ of Sanson. His current market value is €14m. According to the report, the two French clubs could be more tempted for a loan deal.
If Palace are open to buying the Villa midfielder, they stand a chance to get ahead of other suitors to sign Sanson in the summer.
