Pagenews.Gr have reported the latest developments with regards to Olympiacos’ pursuit of Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic.
The Serbian winger will be available this summer following his loan spell with Anderlecht last season and Olympiacos are said to be interested in the Liverpool outcast.
However, the Greek giants have concerns about Markovic’s current Liverpool salary and subsequently they could be priced out of a move for the player.
Markovic is reportedly earning €2m a season with Liverpool and it’s claimed Olympiacos only want to pay €1m per year to the 24 year old if they loan him.
According to Pagenews Liverpool want to offload Markovic in this transfer window and could look to cover 50% of his salary if he heads to Greece. The attacker doesn’t seem to be in the plans of Jurgen Klopp and will need to move on to kick start his career.
Markovic spent the second half of last season on loan with Belgian side Anderlecht where he made 8 appearances.
