On November 27th, SportBild reported Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz is aware that Manchester United are are ‘a fallen giant’ but a move to Old Trafford would still have attractions for him.
Earlier this month, we carried a report from the same newspaper, who explained the Red Devils are ‘very interested’ in the midfielder.
According to Bild, six clubs across Europe are chasing the 20-year-old and the list includes United and Manchester City, while their league rivals, Liverpool, are also keen on the Germany international.
In addition to these three clubs, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in the player.
It’s claimed Havertz and his representative are holding ‘concrete talks’ with the two clubs from Manchester and other suitors.
The player’s contract with the Bundesliga side will run down in 2021 and Bild states Leverkusen have slapped a €130m asking price on him.
It remains to be seen if United, City or any other club would be willing to meet Leverkusen’s demand of €100m plus to sign Havertz.
