There’s yet more negativity around Sandro Ramirez in the Spanish media.
The Everton owned striker, currently on loan at Real Sociedad, last scored a goal in November 2017 against Atalanta, whilst playing for the Toffees in the Europa League.
His last domestic league goal was in the previous May for Malaga.
Sandro has been played in a variety of attacking positions this season but hasn’t picked up an assist, and WhoScored rate him as La Real’s 22nd best player so far this season.
Tuesday’s Basque edition of Mundo Deportivo says Sandro’s situation is so bad it should make Real Sociedad doubt counting on loans in the future. The goalscoring powers he had at Malaga have disappeared ‘as if by magic’, and trying to regain his form whilst on loan has failed, both this season and during the last campaign at Sevilla.
Just after signing for Sevilla in the January transfer window, Sandro gave the impression that failing to settle at Everton had been behind his lack of goals: “I thank the president, Oscar, and the club for the effort. It was a tough negotiation, Everton has resisted until the end, that is secondary, now I am where I wanted to be, where the body asked me to be, I do not have the World Cup in mind, I want to work and do what I do best. Score goals.
“England is very different, the life is different, people are different, but now I come to a big city and a great club.”
The 23 year old’s contract at Goodison Park expires in 2021 and unless he rediscovers his goalscoring touch, it’s going to be increasingly difficult to find a solution for the player next summer.
