Former Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Dorus de Vries has told the Dutch media he doesn’t dwell on his time with the two clubs despite the lack of games he had for them. The 35-year-old this summer joined Celtic, and has established himself as Brendan Rodgers’ No.1.

In an interview with Voetbal international, De Vries was asked if he thought his development was halted through the lack of playing time at the two Championship sides. De Vries said he doesn’t look into the past, and always had confidence in his ability despite being snubbed. The veteran believes what is important is the present, and as it stands he’s satisfied with where he is.

“I’m not a person who gets stuck in the past. Over the past few years, I didn’t want to be difficult. But I’ve always had confidence in my abilities. The most important thing for me is where I am right now, and I can say I’m very satisfied. Overall I think for a goalkeeper the situation can change quickly,” said the Dutch keeper.

De Vries signed for Wolves from Swansea City in 2011, but made just 14 league appearances for the club. In 2013 he was sold to Nottingham Forest where he struggled to get games in the first two seasons, although in the last campaign he was eventually made the first choice.
