RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer has ended up in the sights of Manchester United, according to claims from Germany.
Operating in the middle of the pitch this season, he scored five goals and registered four assists, and two goals and an assist came in his side’s 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.
Bild now explain clubs in England have noticed the 24-year-old, and even more so after he starred against BVB. This is when the Red Devils are tagged as his name has made it to their summer target list.
The Austria international joined the Bundesliga side from Red Bull Salzburg in 2017, when Ralf Rangnick was their sporting director. The German is now the interim manager at Old Trafford and will start a new role as a consultant from the summer.
With Rangnick, the report explains Laimer will have an ‘absolute advocate’ at the Premier League side. Therefore, he could be a topic of discussion for the Manchester club in the next window.
The player’s contract expires in 2023 and Bild state Leipzig will open talks with him only after the end of this campaign. After the tie against BVB, he told ESPN that “after the season, there is still enough time for talks…”
Based on these comments, Bild are stating Laimer ‘still leaves a trend for the future open’.
