Nottingham Forest have a verbal agreement with Fluminense and defender Nino over a move in the January transfer window.
That’s according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who backs up claims that Nottingham Forest will be signing the player in the coming months.
Yesterday we covered a report from Brazil that made it clear Forest were advancing in negotiations for Nino, whose contract is set to expire in December next year.
That report, as well as several others in Brazil, made it clear that Nottingham Forest have been holding talks with Fluminense and the player behind the scenes, with the whole process kept quiet due to their participation in the Copa Libertadores final.
Either way, those negotiations had seemingly advanced to the point that everyone at the Brazilian side considered the deal as practically done.
Andrade now backs up that information as well as adding some of his own, including how much he believes the deal will be worth based on how much Fluminense have rejected for the player in the past.
“Nino and Zagueiro have a very well-advanced negotiation to exchange the Fluminense for the Nottingham Forest of England at the end of this season, that is, from January 2024,” he said.
“It is a very well-aligned verbal agreement between all parties, Fluminense, Nottingham Forest and Nino himself.
“For now they do not yet have the exact value of the negotiation but based on the fact that in the last transfer market Fluminense rejected €3m from Besiktas for Nino, I believe it will be a business worth more than €6m.
“Nino has been at Fluminense since 2019 and is one of the main players of the club in recent years, but everything indicates that he will leave Fluminense and will reinforce Nottingham Forest in the next Brazilian season, second half of the European season.”
