Nottingham Forest have an agreement in place to sign Fluminense defender Nino, with transfer negotiations ‘very well underway’.
That’s according to UOL, who say Nino is ‘on his way’ to leaving Fluminense at the end of the season and making the move to Nottingham Forest.
According to their information, the Brazilian defender has an agreement well underway with Steve Cooper’s side, although the values of that are being kept confidential by the relevant parties for now.
Behind the scenes, though, the ‘definitive transfer’ is ‘already considered closed’ and the 26-year-old will be leaving Fluminense at the end of the Brazilian season on 6th December.
The outlet states that all the details of the agreement are currently being treated with ‘great care’ because Fluminense are set to take on Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday.
They explain that the defender has recently been the target of strong interest from Besiktas and Al-Shabab, but the Rio club blocked both transfers. They’ve now seemingly decided to accept Nottingham Forest’s offer for the player.
Why that is the case isn’t mentioned but Nottingham Forest do have strong connections in Brazil having signed Murillo from Corinthians this summer and Danilo from Palmeiras last summer.
Perhaps that has worked in their favour with this particular negotiation, which UOL say is now advanced and likely to be concluded sooner rather than later.
