On Monday, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reported the operation to take Hoffenheim’s Georginio Rutter to Leeds United is close to being finalised. He also stated the medical is planned in the next two days.
The journalist took to Twitter to provide a fresh update on this case. Plettenberg says that if ‘everything works out’, the 20-year-old could arrive in Leeds to complete his medical tests on Tuesday.
Leeds were ‘always pushing’ to sign the France U20 international and this is why the Bundesliga side ‘couldn’t say no’ to the Whites’ ‘massive financial package’, even though they would have loved to keep him at the club.
Sky Deutschland further explain the deal to take the attacker to Leeds is ‘about to be completed’. The player’s agent and lawyers travelled to England on Monday to ‘clarify the last details’ of the operation.
Jesse Marsch’s side will guarantee a total package of €30-40m including bonuses to Hoffenheim, and Rutter will sign a long-term contract at Leeds.
