The past couple of weeks has been full of updates on the situation of Andreas Pereira, since Flamengo are reportedly considering giving up on the deal they had with Manchester United for his permanent transfer.
Despite the €20m buying option that was previously agreed, it’s known that the clubs reached an understanding to make the move for only €10m, which wasn’t concluded yet.
Now according to a new story from UOL, it’s claimed that it will still take a couple of months until Flamengo take a final decision on the Manchester United loanee’s future.
It’s said that in a meeting between the club’s vice-president Marcos Braz and members of the board, the official made it clear that the €10m deal ‘is not closed yet’.
Braz reportedly claimed that the signing shall now ‘depend on his performance’ from here to the middle of the year, when his loan with Flamengo expires.
Only then will they decide if the Manchester United midfielder is worth the investment.
So far, his spell at the Brazilian side is seen as negative, as besides the big mistakes he’s made, he’s currently benched by manager Paulo Sousa.
Stories from the Brazilian media this week claimed that in case he continues not to play, even Pereira himself would rather return to Manchester United instead of staying at Flamengo.
