Manchester United are not pushing for a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to Fussball.News, who say the striker’s injury history is seen as his ‘one major flaw’ and a major block to any move.
The website reports that while Boniface has been shining at Leverkusen since his arrival and that has put him on Manchester United’s radar, and indeed other big clubs, he is not at the top of their radar.
The Premier League side are not making him a ‘hot topic’ because the Nigerian has ‘one major flaw’ and that is his susceptibility to injury.
He’s already suffered two cruciate ligaments tears in his career and was out for months last season with a thigh injury following an international break. That concerns Manchester United and they’ll look elsewhere for a new striker.
This is all good news to Bayer Leverkusen, who want to continue working with the striker in the long-term and extend his current deal by another year. Their plan is to make him one of the top earners and he’s likely to accept too.
He feels totally at home in Leverkusen and is happy to stay, although that might because the likes of Manchester United aren’t pushing for him or likely to be in future either.
