As things stand, Divock Origi remains a Liverpool player, and will do so until the end of the season.

What happens beyond that remains something of a mystery, although it’s rather clear his future is far from Anfield.

The general consensus at this point is that, after Liverpool, his next club should be Milan, who have been in long-winded talks with the player’s agents regarding a free transfer.

There have been many articles about it, with a belief Origi will sign a four-year deal with the Serie A side with a wage of around €4m a year, allowing Stefano Pioli more flexibility in attack as he can play across the front three.

Where those negotiations are now is still unknown, but it appears to be close to being done, according to Rudy Galletti, speaking to Calciomercato.it.

He said: “Unless there are incredible twists, Origi will be a Milan player. I have it as virtually done. I have no particular doubts about it.”

That’s where we are with the Liverpool player’s future, and it appears to be a matter of when rather than if regarding this transfer now.
