According to various reports, and certainly believable ones, Dani Ceballos is in London.
The Real Madrid midfielder has been strongly linked to both Arsenal and Tottenham in recent weeks, and it’s the Gunners who have won the race for the signing.
Arsenal played Madrid in a friendly on Tuesday and it saw Marco Asensio pick up a serious knee injury. Cruciate and meniscus issues will keep him out of much of the coming season, and that led to some worry over Ceballos’ deal failing.
Unai Emery even spoke about it after the match, but in Spain it’s not thought to be a worry. Marca have already made that clear, and Sport now say it outright.
Despite the Asensio issue, Ceballos, who plays in a different position anyway, is signing for Arsenal.
They believe that will happen today, with the player’s lawyer and agent in London to finalise the paperwork. Sport are very clear and headline their article ‘Ceballos will today sign for Arsenal’.
It’s believed he’ll earn exactly the same as he did at Real Madrid, and of course there’s no purchase option in the loan.
