Targeted by Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, Ruslan Malinovskyi has also ended up as an option for Leicester City.
That’s what Calciomercato suggest on Wednesday afternoon, as they look what the next day or so has in store for the Ukrainian footballer.
In talks to sign for Marseille, the negotiations between the Ligue 1 side and Atalanta were never close to being completed, as ‘the distance in valuations’ between the two clubs placed a brake on everything.
That’s why Malinovskyi’s eyes are now back on the Premier League, where a market for him ‘remains very open with several options that are coming forward’ from England.
One of those could still be Tottenham, who came asking questions about the player when Atalanta were keen on Sergio Reguilon, who has since signed for Atlético Madrid on loan.
In fact, Spurs ‘remains the player’s greatest hope’, even with Leicester City and Nottingham Forest as ‘alternative tracks’.
However, it’s worth pointing out the Foxes are currently in talks with Atalanta for Jérémie Boga.
As for Nottingham Forest, they have spent a lot of money this summer on new players, and it’s clear Steve Cooper might even want a couple more if he could to try and ensure the Tricky Trees don’t end up going back down to the Championship immediately.
It appears that Malinovskyi, as things stand, would far prefer a transfer to Tottenham if it were presented to him, but perhaps a move to the City Ground or Leicester will have to do if he doesn’t get his number one choice.
