Liverpool’s Luis Díaz was linked to Barcelona over the past few windows and still continues to get linked to them.
Earlier this week, El Chiringuito journalist Jose Alvarez Haya said the forward has offered himself to the La Liga club. He also stated his agent told Barca sporting director Deco that Díaz is open to leaving Liverpool in the summer.
Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to this claim. He has gathered information from the 28-year-old’s ‘circle’, meaning his entourage.
Díaz’s camp have informed the journalist that they ‘deny’ offering the Liverpool star to the Catalan club. At the same time, they have confirmed to Sierra that they have been talking to Barca due to their interest since 2023.
He further adds the Colombia international’s future at Liverpool will depend on whether or not he signs a renewal at Anfield. This suggests if the attacker isn’t convinced by the Reds contract proposal, he could leave them.
Díaz’s contract at Liverpool lasts until 2027 and on Thursday, claims from Spain reported he isn’t willing to sign an extension. This may be a ploy from his camp to put pressure on Liverpool to propose an attractive offer.
The South American managed 13 goals and three assists from 33 games this season.
