Tottenham Hotspur have turned their strong interest in Isak Midttun Solberg into something rather more serious, by offering the youngster a deal.
In July, we covered a report from Norway which detailed Spurs’ interest in the goalkeeper. Midttun Solberg, who plays for Bryne, was set to travel to London to be assessed in training by Tottenham coaches.
Even Sel, a coach at the Norwegian club, said at the time: “He is a very talented goalkeeper with good attitude and good prerequisites for being good. He is coachable and ambitious. We believe that Isak can become a good keeper of Bryne in the future.”
Asle Tjøtta, also of Bryne, added: “He is enormously dedicated and at the same time humble. We are thinking of long-term development, he is still very young, but there is no doubt that he is an exciting keeper.”
Thomas Solberg, the player’s father, is quoted as saying: “I can confirm that Isak has been offered a three year contract starting next summer. We’ll go back again in the autumn holiday. A decision about the offer will be taken in the new year.”
The offer would see the first two years spent with the academy, with the plan being the third year would be on professional terms.
