Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite could be a PSV Eindhoven player by tonight after the Dutch side moved their efforts for him forwards.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink, who provides a big update on the Everton defender.
He reports that he has had ‘confirmation’ from the defender’s camp that a move to PSV is ‘close’, and while it is not a done deal yet, ‘it looks good’.
According to his information, the Dutch side are ‘well on their way’ to making the Everton youngster their eighth signing of the summer.
Indeed, he believes things are progressing at such a rapid pace that it could be wrapped up as early as tonight.
There is no mention of the nature of the deal, but reports in both England and the Netherlands have made it clear Branthwaite would be departing Goodison Park on a loan deal.
The youngster has been made available after Everton signed James Tarkowski on a free from Burnley this summer.
That arrival pushed Branthwaite further down the pecking order, and it now seems Everton have elected to loan him to their former director of football Marcel Brands for his new project at PSV.
Bevestiging inmiddels vanuit het kamp van centrale verdediger Jarrad Branthwaite van Everton. Een overgang naar PSV is dichtbij. Nog niet kogeltje rond, maar het ziet er goed uit. Zo meer.
