‘Talks on the table’ – Club open to selling player to Chelsea, trying to sort own squad out first

For the past week or so, the Italian press have repeatedly discussed Chelsea’s interest in Achraf Hakimi and their willingness to offer some of their own players to Inter Milan as part of the deal.

The Serie A winners must cash in from a big sale in order to improve their financial situation, and this is once again relayed by FcInterNews.

Inter need a fixed fee of €70m plus bonuses for the right-back, but the idea of ‘receiving a counterpart’ shouldn’t be excluded. They have received proposals from the Blues and Paris Saint-Germain.

‘Among the proposals on the table’, there’s Marcos Alonso, offered by the European champions in exchange for the Morocco international.

Simone Inzaghi has approved the Chelsea left-back’s arrival at the San Siro, and he’s considered as an upgrade, both financially and technically, to Ivan Perišić [used as left wing-back last season], who has a year left on his contract.

According to the report, the Croatian’s exit is ‘essential’, if the Nerazzurri were to accept Chelsea’s offer to include Alonso as part of the deal for Hakimi.

FcInterNews end their report by stating: ‘Talks on the table, ideas on which you work to achieve financial goals and not impoverish too much the squad of Italian champions.’
