On Tuesday morning, English newspaper The Sun claimed Manchester United are interested in Valencia’s Uros Racic.
There were no claims of an offer, just a suggestion the Spanish club would be open to receiving £28m for the player, given their financial problems this summer.
That then made its way to Spain, where things have got a little confused. Hector Gomez, a journalist who follows Valencia closed, stated the player’s entourage ‘confirm interest’ from Manchester United, but deny that a €30m offer has been made.
Given there was no claim of the offer, that surely goes without saying. Racic’s representatives are also unlikely to deny any United interest, given how it helps the player’s profile.
This story hasn’t grown much in Spain. Mundo Deportivo are one of the few to cover it, and they say Valencia would find it ‘difficult to reject’ a €30m offer, if it’s ever made.
Racic is a midfielder who signed for Valencia in 2018 and has since been out on loan to Tenerife and Famalicão. He has a contract lasting until June 2022, and these Manchester United links could be more about hyping his position at his current club, and maybe getting a renewal, than anything else.
