Besiktas president Fikret Orman has confirmed to the Turkish press he’s received no offers for Tottenham Hotspur target Dusko Tosic.
The Serbia international earlier this month was linked with an unlikely move to Tottenham Hotspur, with reports the Premier League side were preparing an offer for the player.
Speaking to TrtSpor, Orman was asked whether he’d received any offers for Tosic after reports Beskitas are looking to sign Dynamo Kiev defender Domagoj Vida, who would likely be a replacement: ”There’s no offers that have come to me.”
This month we covered reports from Turkey that Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a shock €8m bid for Tosic as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his defensive options in the new year.
A few weeks ago it looked a certainty Vida would be signing for the Turkish champions, but in the past week Everton and AC Milan have reportedly joined the race for the Croatia international.
A Tosic exit is now likely to depend on what decision Vida takes on his future, and it’s been reported he’ll make his mind up in the coming days whether he’ll join Beskitas, Everton or AC Milan.
If Everton are successful in bringing Vida to Goodison Park in the next window then it’s unlikely Beskitas will sell Tosic to Tottenham, but then it may be considered more unlikely that Spurs ever wanted him.
