Last summer, Adalberto Peñaranda left Watford on a free move to Boavista.
The winger wasn’t being of much use for the Hornets, spending the past few seasons on loan, and was now ready to try his luck in Portugal.
The issue here, as it turns out, is that the 25-year-old is already on his way out of his new club, and that’s without having even played for them.
As reported by ZeroZero, there were two reasons why he didn’t even enter the pitch. The first was the delay to getting his international certificate last summer.
Then there were his physical issues, and that has led to the termination of his contract, which is reportedly ‘being finalised’ as we write this article.
That means his last appearance on a club level was in May 2022, when loaned by Watford to Las Palmas.
Peñaranda’s contract with Boavista was supposed to run until 2025, but he’s now set to become a free agent and can already start looking for a new club to play for next season.
The winger belonged to Watford between 2016 and 2022, but only had a total of four appearances made for the Hornets, with two goals scored.
