Last month, Fútbol Centroamérica stated Jewison Bennette ‘lived a dream’ when he joined Sunderland from CS Herediano in 2022. It was also said his situation with the Black Cats is concerning for the Costa Rican media.
The winger made his debut for Costa Rica before arriving at the Stadium of Light. He has 15 appearances for the national team, of which three of them were at the World Cup.
Costa Rican outlet CR Hoy say Bennette lived a ‘dream’ in 2022 by joining Sunderland and representing his country at the World Cup.
The 20-year-old’s decision to join the Black Cats hasn’t worked out well for him. He’s been limited to 415 minutes of action from 21 games, and it includes one appearance this season.
Sunderland sent the attacker on loan to Greek side Aris Thessaloniki in January, but his situation didn’t improve there.
It’s claimed the player went from a ‘protagonist to being completely forgotten’ with Costa Rica. His situation with the Championship side has impacted his place in the national team as Bennette hasn’t made an appearance for them since November 2023.
