Orel Mangala’s agent Mehmet Eser has insisted his client can imagine staying at Stuttgart, despite interest from Nottingham Forest.

Earlier this week, we covered a report from Germany that stated Nottingham Forest were keen on the midfielder and had seen an €11m bid rejected.

That stated that a decision about Mangala was set to be made in the next few days, but all signs were pointing towards him departing Stuttgart this summer.

There have been no major developments since that point, with it remaining to be seen whether Nottingham Forest up their bid as they continue their spending.

They’ve been busy improving Steve Cooper’s squad already, with several already arriving from Germany, and Mangala would be the latest addition from there.

At the minute, the transfer does not seem to be developing, though, and now his agent has insisted he would be happy to stay where he is, even if there are offers on the table.

“Orel can imagine staying in Stuttgart. VfB has a strong team; they can attack next season,” he told SWR Sport.

“There are clubs who want to sign him, but you have to respect the contract in Stuttgart. If VfB is willing to give him up, then we have to talk.

“We have always been treated well here by the management and the coaching team.

“Orel needs time in action. The World Cup is his goal. For the next step, the perspective of the project must be right above all. The money is secondary.”
