Earlier today, Sky Deutschland reported Newcastle United are in concrete talks with Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitiké agent to reach a verbal agreement. They also stated the Magpies haven’t made contact with the Bundesliga side, who are demanding €100m.

These claims emerged after the England press reported on Monday that Newcastle United have a firm desire to sign the striker.

France’s Le Parisien back up claims made in the UK that Newcastle made a bid of €70m for the 23-year-old.

They make it clear the Premier League side’s interest isn’t new, but the negotiations have heated up recently. Le Parisien state agent Ali Barat has sent an offer on behalf of the Tyneside club and is working behind the scenes to help them secure the Frenchman’s services.

They add the frontman is preparing to leave the German club, but hasn’t yet given his approval to Eddie Howe’s side. Therefore, the negotiations will continue, most likely to help Eddie Howe’s side get this operation over the line.

Eintracht Frankfurt will have lower their request from €100m.
