The Edin Dzeko to West Ham rumour continues in the Italian media.
It was initially reported that an agent had offered the striker to the Hammers, after the 34-year-old fell out with Paulo Fonseca, his manager at AS Roma.
Dzeko was left out of Roma’s squad for the weekend match against Spezia, and despite reports putting it down to an injury, in Italy it’s taken as fact that it was the result of a disagreement with Fonseca.
An agent offering the former Manchester City player to West Ham is entirely believable given the club are in the market for a striker and having difficulties securing someone for David Moyes.
The next step the Italian media took was to say Dzeko had rejected the chance, and that’s something Gazzetta dello Sport cover today. Generally, the player is very happy with his life in Rome and his family are settled.
Given that, he’s not going to move to just any club and would only accept a side he considers to be ‘first-tier’. West Ham are not in that bracket for Dzeko, and the same can be said of Wolves.
The veteran seems to be rather optimistic in his outlook, with top clubs in the Champions League being named as palatable options.
