Ansu Fati has made it clear to his agent Jorge Mendes that he wants to remain at Barcelona and be a star at the club.

That’s according to Deportes Cuatro, who say he had dinner with the Portuguese super-agent to make his views clear.

They explain that the ‘informal meeting’ between the two, which was reported by Cadena SER’s El Larguero, Fati told Mendes he is ‘willing’ to make an ‘economic effort’ to stay at Barcelona, which is an update on this morning’s Mundo Deportivo report.

The forward knows the situation at the club is complicated, and so he will need to make some sort of sacrifice if he is to stay at the club beyond next summer when his current contract expires.

The latest meeting with his agent took place in a restaurant in Barcelona in midweek, with the player accompanied by his father, Bori Fati.

Mendes explained that he would have to ‘adapt to the market’ if he was to renew his deal at the Nou Camp, given the club’s financial struggles.

Fati accepts this and ‘made it clear’ to the agent that his priority is to remain at the club, which will seemingly pave the way for a renewal to happen sooner rather than later.
