On Monday France Football reported that whilst Chelsea and AS Monaco had agreed a fee for Tiemoué Bakayoko, the player and his potential new club were still apart on personal terms.

It was no big worry, the delay would just mean a deal wouldn’t likely be completed at the beginning of this week, which could stall the domino of transfers, with Nemanja Matic perhaps next in line to fall.

L’Equipe touch on the situation in their Tuesday edition, and treat the transfer as pretty much done. Looking at Monaco’s transfer situation, which seems to change by the day, the French newspaper say Bakayoko ‘will soon’ be a Chelsea player.

The matter of fact way the transfer is reported is also included in L’Equipe’s headline, and reports around France back it up.

It’s worth noting that some seem to be trying to jump the gun by claiming an imminent medical, and whilst L’Equipe don’t pretend to know, it looks to be part of the coming process.
