According to reports in the Turkish media, Loris Karius will return to Liverpool in the summer after failing to make an impact during his loan move to Besiktas.

The German joined the Super Lig side last summer but some high profile mistakes are likely to lead to him heading back to Anfield.

Aksam have reported on claims from Turkish newspaper Star, who say Besiktas will not continue with the Liverpool loanee next season despite having the option to loan him for two seasons, with a right of redemption of €8m at the end of that period.

Karius has come in for flak from Besiktas fans for his attitude, with suggestions the player didn’t want to go out for the second half during last weekend’s clash against Konyaspor.

It’s likely Karius will continue to be the Super Lig’s first choice until the end of the season but his stay in Istanbul will be cut short in June.

However, with Liverpool having Allison and Simon Mignolet at their disposal it seems Karius doesn’t have a future with the Premier League club and he may have a decision to make in the coming months.

There seems to be a confidence in Turkey that Karius can be sent back, Liverpool may think otherwise.
