Even though Tiemoué Bakayoko is loaned by Chelsea to Milan until 2023, it seems he could be back at Stamford Bridge earlier than expected.
The midfielder is failing to impress in his second spell with the Serie A giants, and probably for that reason, they no longer need him in the squad for the next season.
The claims are made today by Pianet Milan journalist Daniele Triolo. He had a word with outlet Toro News, and when speaking of Tommaso Pobega, who’s loaned by Millan to Torino, he said the midfield player should soon be back at the San Siro, with Bakayoko going back to Chelsea.
“Pobega went to Turin on loan because Pioli likes him, but last summer he didn’t think he was ready to play in a two-man half,” said Triolo.
“At the end of the season, there are every intention of bringing him back to Milan also because Bakayoko will return to Chelsea and also numerically needs another midfielder who can play for the place with Tonali and Bennacer.”
Bakayoko has 17 appearances for Milan this season, and it’s been a while since the Italian media started claiming he was having a not satisfying spell at the club.
Since his contract with Chelsea only expires in 2024, it’s very likely the Blues will have to work on a new solution for him next summer.
