Valencia sold Rafa Mir to Wolverhampton Wanderers in January.
After being promoted to the Premier League, Nuno Espírito Santo allowed the forward to join second division Spanish side Las Palmas on a season-long loan deal, where he has scored three goals in eight appearances.
According to El GOL Digital, the 21-year-old is already dreaming of facing his former club next season because he’s keen on showing Los Che what they missed by parting ways. This is only possible if two conditions are met.
Las Palmas must seal promotion to La Liga and they are currently on the right track as they sit fifth in the table. Secondly, he will be back at Molineux Stadium next summer and can return to Spain for the 2019/20 campaign only if Wolves decide to go out on another temporary spell.
The report claims that Mir ‘will push’ his parent club to sanction another loan move so that he can fulfil his wish of facing Valencia.
Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell has this week explained his side are keeping a close eye on Mir’s development in the Segunda División.
“The plan was always to leave him for the full season. Nuno thought he needed a good run at settling into a season but he has come to prominence through scoring so many goals and we are monitoring him closely,” the Birmingham Mail quoted Thelwell as saying.
Unless Rafa Mir is vindictive to the point of sabotaging himself, having Valencia revenge as a reason to stay at Las Palmas doesn’t really feel right.
Valencia didn’t want him to go. There was a fall out but it wasn’t because Mir was being turfed out with Valencia not rating him.
